New York State Police say the ongoing Thruway Operation Hangup has resulted in a DWI arrest.
State police on Monday, Sept. 20, arrested Lindsey Beyers, 28, of Lousville, Ky., after pulling her over at Thruway Exit 25A after she allegedly drove through while talking on her cell phone. Beyers said she had attended a wedding in Kentucky on Sunday and was driving from there to Cape Cod when she was stopped, according to police.
An open bottle of vodka was found in the vehicle, and police said Beyers admitted to having been drinking straight from it. She was allegedly found to have a BAC of .28 percent, more than three times the legal limit.
Beyers was charged with aggravated DWI, cell phone use while driving and other traffic law charges. She was arraigned in Rotterdam Town Court and remanded to Schenectady County Jail in lieu of $1,500 bail.“
