Albany County Sheriff’s investigators arrested Christopher R. Polomie, 19, of 1031 Second Ave., Schenectady, and Donnell J. Bertrand, 21, 1023 Barrett St., Schenectady, for the same alleged felony charge of grand larceny to the fourth degree and the misdemeanor charge of six counts of petit larceny.
On Friday, Aug. 27, there were numerous reports of property stolen from unlocked cars were reported to Albany County Sheriff’s Office and State Police around 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. when Knox residents were leaving for work, said Albany police. During early morning hours on the same day a Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a car for a traffic violation leaving the area where the incidents were later reported. Polomie, Bertrand and a female from East Berne occupied the stopped vehicle, said Albany County police.
The three occupants were located by police and re-interviewed regarding the larceny spree incidents, said Albany County Sheriff’s Office. Following the interviews, 19 items of stolen property were recovered from a residence in Schenectady and both men were arrested, said police.
Polomie cooperated with the investigation, said police, and was released on appearance tickets and will appear in Knox Town Court on Oct. 6. Bertrand was located at a separate residence in Round Lake, said police, and was arraigned in Knox Town Court and placed in the Albany County Correctional Facility on $25,000 bail.
