Loudonville State Police have updated the cause of the fatal motorcycle accident involving Randy A. Bowers on Aug. 29, near exit 2E on I-87
After interviewing two witnesses and a family member, police said Bowers, 49, may have suffered from a medical condition that caused him to run off the road without any braking or caution. Police originally suspected Bowers had lost control of his motorcycle due to travelling at an unsafe speed.
Bower was heading northbound on I-87 when he lost control of his vehicle and was placed on life support with a possible broken neck, according to police. He was transported to Albany Medical Center by Colonie EMS, but died due to his injuries on Aug. 30.
