The Town of Clifton Park’s Community Arts and Culture Commission has announced a photo contest for amateur photographers in town. Entries will be accepted between now and Aug. 11 in the Office of Parks, Recreation and Community Affairs.
The theme for this year’s contest is Rural Roots. Photographs should highlight the agricultural roots of Clifton Park as well as the support systems and historical sites related to the development of the town. Photos will be judged on creativity, composition, content and the inclusion of the theme.
The Community Arts and Culture Commission will choose 13 winning photographs to be printed in a 2011 calendar. All winning submissions will also be displayed at Historic Grooms Tavern during the town’s Farm Fest weekend on Sept. 11 to 12. Visitors to the tavern at Farm Fest will be able to cast their vote for the fan favorite photo, which will be on the cover of the calendar.
Contest rules are available at Town Hall in the Office of Parks, Recreation and Community Affairs, online at www.cliftonpark.org and on the Community Arts and Culture Facebook Page.
This is the second-annual photo contest held by the Community Arts and Culture Commission. Last year’s contest included 13 submissions totaling 24 photographs. The age of the participants ranged from 14 to 75. This year, photographers are limited to a maximum of three photo entries each.
