Assemblyman Bob Reilly, D-Colonie, was given the Independence Party endorsement on Tuesday, June 22, according to information from state party chairman Frank Mackay.
Mackay cited Reilly’s oversight of public authorities and willingness, cracking down on sex offenders to consolidate government as reasons for the party’s backing for the 109th Assembly District.
When I was first ran for office, I made three pledges to my constituents, assuring them that I’d be an independent citizen legislator, visit each neighborhood in the district at least twice a year and donate my entire Assembly salary to charity, Reilly said. `I’m proud to accept the Independence Party’s endorsement, and I’ll continue to honor these commitments.`
`Bob Reilly has been the type of public servant that the Independence Party wants in elected office. He is hard working, committed and dedicated to putting people first,` said Paul Caputo, Vice Chairman of the New York State Independence Party and Chairman of the Albany County Independence Party.
