Saratoga County District Attorney Jim Murphy announced Monday, June 14, that a special prosecutor has been assigned by a judge in the case of Steven Feldman, accused of allegedly misrepresenting himself as a psychologist and performing evaluations for Saratoga County Family Court, according to information from the Murphy’s office.
Clinton County District Attorney Andrew J. Wylie was assigned to handle the case after the defense attorney told Murphy he planned to call various judges and county officials in his client’s defense. Defense attorney John Pastore, Esq.told Murphy he is not on the witness list, nor is anyone in the District Attorney’s office.
Feldman was charged by the New York State Police for allegedly portraying himself as a psychologist and obtaining payment by Saratoga County.
Due to Murphy’s relationship with the judges and other county officials, it would be a violation of the NYS Ethical Considerations and Disciplinary Rules for Murphy’s office to continue, according to information from Murphy’s office. A knowing violation of these rules can lead to the NYS Bar Association to proceed with a disciplinary investigation.
