Guilderland police arrested John Michael Meacham, 40, of Knox, on charges of DWI on Saturday, April 24, according to police reports.
According to police, Meacham was arrested near 2360 Western Avenue and will appear in court on Thursday, May 13. He allegedly had a 0.10 percent blood-alcohol content.
Police said Meacham, a South Colonie Central School District physical education teacher and varsity assistant football coach, was pulled over for speeding on Route 20, leading to his arrest.
District spokesman John Noetzel said he cannot comment on whether action will be taken against Meacham. New York state has a conduct policy, but Noetzel said it is unclear how is will affect Meacham.
He also could not confirm if Meacham was at work on Tuesday, April 27, when The Spotlight goes to press.
