Ross M. Lackey of Niskayuna was arrested on Saturday, April 10, by Niskayuna police on charges of two counts of harassment in the second degree and unlawful imprisonment in the second degree according to a release from the department.
The arrest was the result of a report filed at the Niskayuna Police Station by the female victim where she reported that two separate arguments during the early morning hours became physical. The victim reported that Lackey shoved her, causing her to strike her head against a wall and said Lackey further used a strangulation hold on her and took her cell phone away from her to prevent her from calling for help. According to the release, the victim did not report suffering any physical injuries as a result of Lackey’s actions.
Lackey is a an employee of the Schenectady County Sheriff’s Office is listed as a correctional officer in their 2009 annual report.
An arrest warrant was issued for Lackey, who surrendered himself to the Niskayuna police department that morning. Lackey was later arraigned in Niskayuna Town Court and was issued a temporary stay away order of protection and was released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to reappear on Wednesday, April 14 at 6 p.m.`
