Chris Davis drove in a pair of runs to help the Saratoga Springs baseball team open its Suburban Council season with a 7-4 victory over Niskayuna Wednesday at East Side Recreation Field.
Davis had a pair of hits and added a run scored for the Blue Streaks (1-0 league, 2-1 overall). Joe Moore contributed a hit and a run scored in support of Matt Coleman’s complete game performance on the pitcher’s mound.
Ethan Kelly had three hits, a stolen base and a run scored for Niskayuna (0-1). Brandon LaMar and David Hoffman each chipped in with a pair of hits, with Hoffman adding a pair of runs for the Silver Warriors.
In another Suburban Council game Wednesday, Shenendehowa scored a run in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to pull out a 3-0 victory over Shaker in Latham.
David Wixted belted a solo home run, and Scott Buniak added a double for the Plainsmen (1-0), who are seeking another North Division title.
Jeff Hoffman singled three times, Chris Bogdan had two singles and Derek Gardella added a double for the Blue Bison (0-1).`
