The Village of Altamont Archives and Museum (VAAM) will hold an open house this Sunday, Jan. 31, from noon to 4 p.m.
The facility is located inside the Village Hall and includes an exhibit space in the Hallway Gallery.
Featured in the Archives will be a 2′ x 6′ photographic mural of a panoramic view of the village, as well as a metal panel fragment from a mural, 150 Years of Railroad History, painted in 1979 by Altamont artist Gene Jordan, which once existed in Paisano’s Pizza Villa.
In the hallway gallery an exhibition, `A Sense of Place and Station: Altamont’s Historic Houses,` featuring prints of historic homes will be on view.
Visitors will be able to view images of the Miles Hayes House (Fairview Ave.); the Hiram Griggs House (Prospect Terrace); the Philip Edelman House (Grand St.); the Mayor Frederick Keenholts House (Lincoln Ave.) among others.
