The Rotterdam Police Department has announced the arrest of Jamal R. Davis, 20, of 1059 Delamont Ave., Schenectady on charges of assault in the first degree and robbery in the first degree, both class B felonies.
According to police reports, after a two month investigation from the Rotterdam Police Department, Davis was arrested on charges stemming from a Nov. 20 incident involving the burglary and assault of a male employee of Adirondack Tire at 1214 Curry Road. The victim was physically assaulted and suffered 11 stab wounds to the upper thigh. The assailants then removed the victim’s wallet from his pants pocket and fled the area.
Davis was arraigned in the Rotterdam Town Court and remanded to the Schenectady County Sheriff in lieu of a $20,000 bail, according to reports.
The Rotterdam Police Department was assisted by the Schenectady and Colonie Police Departments. The investigation is ongoing.`
