Milton Terrace North, an elementary school in the Ballston Spa Central School District, recently competed in the statewide Healthy Steps program and received a third-place award in its division. Healthy Steps
is a two-week walking program that encourages children to increase their level of physical activity both at school and at home, in addition to physical education classes. The winning class was Mrs. Karel Spratt’s third-grade class, above, who walked a total of 963 miles. The grade level that walked the most was third grade, who logged 2,032 miles. Altogether, the school had a grand total of 7,764 miles. The school plans to compete again next year and try to increase its miles.
