The Schenectady County Legislature will hold a special meeting on Monday, Dec. 21 at 7 p.m. to discuss, among other items, the adoption of proposed local laws 3 and 4 and the authorization of an airport joint use agreement.
The airport joint use agreement would enter Schenectady County into an agreement with the federal government in relation to the use of the County Airport by the Air National Guards 109th Airlift Wing in Glenville. The use of the airport would cover the period of Oct. 1, 2008 through Sept. 3, 2013 with payment to the county for airfield services provided by airport staff in support of the Air National Guard, totaling in $229,453 over the five years, according to county documents.
Proposed local law number 3 will provide increase payment to officers of the county of Schenectady for an appointed term. The two groups of appointed officials include Civil Service Commissioners and the Commissioners of Elections. The officers appointed for a fixed term would also receive management longevity payments as established by resolution of the legislature, according to county legislature documents. The three Civil Service Commissioners would receive an annual salary base of $7,082 while the two Commissioners of Elections would receive $81,955 each for an annual salary base.
Proposed local law number 4 would amend the fees for recording, entering, indexing and endorsing a certificate on any instrument. The fee would be $20 for recording, entering, indexing and endorsing a certificate on any instrument and an additional $5 for each page or portion of a page, according to county documents.
