The Albany County Stop DWI Program arrested nine people for alcohol related offenses, including one accident that involved a fatality, pending toxicology results to verify.
Guilderland Police also arrested one person under the new Leandra’s Law, which increases the penalty of a DWI to a felony if there is a child under the age of 15 in the vehicle.
Out of the nine arrests, three were aggravated DWI. There were 655 stops, 42 designated drivers and the average blood-alcohol for DWI arrests was 0.14, according to the report.
Colonie police had the most arrests with three, the report states.`
