The Mohonasen Central School District is set to induct their first class of former athletic all-stars into their Hall of Fame on Tuesday, Dec. 29.
Honorees include Pat Popolizio of the class of 1971, John Gallo of the class of 1981, former athletic director and basketball coach Willard Bill Baker, who worked at Mohonasen from 1957 to 1988, Brett Armstrong of the class of 1972, former soccer coach and athletic director Lyle Bowers who worked at Mohonasen from 1957 to 1973, former physical education teacher Angela Whisher who worked at Mohonasen from 1958 to 1982, Peter Sgueglia of the class of 2003 and Amanda Blackstone of the class of 2002.
`Its a great way to recognize coaches and athletes who have helped the program over the years,` said Mohonasen Athletic Director Joe Scalise. `Its a group of some of the best coaches, teachers, and athletes at Mohonasen and we are excited to honor them for their achievements.`
The event is invite only and is not open to the general public, according to a release from the school district. Inductees will also be honored during the Mohonasen-Schalmont basketball game on Tuesday, Dec. 29. at 7:30 p.m.“
