A total of 50 parking summonses were issued during the Albany County Project Access handicapped parking saturation initiative conducted on Friday, Nov. 27, and Saturday, Nov. 28, or Black Friday weekend.
The tickets, which were issued to individuals parked illegally in designated handicapped parking spaces, represent a total of $8,195 in fines to be paid.
The largest numbers of tickets were issued by the Albany Police Department (21) and Crossgates Mall Security (19).
Since `Project Access` was started in 1994, there have been a total of 42 enforcement details conducted, resulting in the issuance of 2,051 summons and a total of $225,665 in fines being levied.
