Schenectady County Public Health services are offering two H1N1 vaccine clinics for priority groups on Friday, Nov. 20, and Monday, Nov. 23 by appointment only.
The clinics will be open to priority groups that include pregnant women, children and young adults up to 24 years of age, caregivers of children under six months of age, health care workers and people with chronic medical conditions up to age 65, according to a press release from the county. The clinics are on a first call basis and are only available to Schenectady County residents.
The H1N1 vaccination does not protect against the normal flu strains, but only the H1N1 virus. Any person who would also like to be vaccinated for the seasonal flu will have to have a separate vaccination.
