Town business owner Rick DiCresce has pleaded not guilty to charges of illegal use of property on the lot of his car dealership, leading to a court date set for Nov. 19 with the Town of Glenville.
DiCresce, owner of Richard J. DiCresce Enterprize at 178 Freemans Bridge Road, believes that the charges are rumped up and a product of a personal vendetta from town supervisor Frank Quinn.
`I was lied to, I was insulted. There’s no question that Mr. Quinn is involved in these charges,` said DiCresce.
`It’s interesting who we harass,` said Quinn in a recent interview,` its usually the one’s who break the law who we harass. He says we’re harassing him, that’s not fair to the rest of the business and homeowners that follow the law.`
DiCresce recently moved his car dealership on Route 50 to make way for the new Lowes in Glenville. He states that he was called, `a hero` for moving his dealership from its previous location to the new location, with the help of town board members Valarie DiGiandomenico and Chris Koetzle.
Since moving his dealership, DiCresce has been harassed about the number of cars on his lot and his business practices from various members of the town government, which includes the town supervisor, according to DiCresce.
`It’s not a business friendly government we have right now,` said DiCresce, `this supervisor is heading a rouge government, they do what they want.`
DiCresce was also charged in 2008 on the charges of illegal storage of motor vehicles, those charges were later dropped on March 26, 2009.
