The City of Saratoga Springs has just undergone an update to its Web site that replaces the old black-on-green design with a shiny new interface.
The site went live on Friday, Aug. 7, and nearly all of the content from the old site has been transferred over, said Juergen Klingenberg, owner of design firm Hound Dog Graphics in Ballston Spa, who added that the new site will be much easier for the city to maintain.
The structure they had originally was just very cumbersome and at this point, outdated, he said. `We designed it to be very functional, and also very easy and completely internally maintained.`
In addition to providing easier `back end` access for city officials, new front page windows for public announcements and events makes it a better resource for residents and visitors alike.
The idea, said Klingenberg, is for the site to become `more of a community-based alert system or information portal for what’s going on with the city.`
Meeting schedules, minutes and various forms are still available on the Web site, which has the same address as the old one: www.saratoga-springs.org.
