Local law enforcement agencies will participate in a handicap-parking sweep at two Guilderland shopping destinations, on Wednesday July 8.
Stuyvesant Plaza and Crossgates Mall will be the location of a Project Access parking enforcement effort, and it will target non-disabled motorists using handicap spaces, according to the Albany County sheriff’s office.
This is the 41st saturation effort held in Albany County since the implementation of the program in December, 1994. During that period there has been a total of 1,963 summonses issues resulting in $ 211,505 in fines levies, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.
The effort is designed to raise `awareness and compliance` of the parking laws and its results will be announced on Thursday, July 9.
