In today’s fast-paced society, one Guilderland business owner is capitalizing on the demand for convenient, quality products.
Saute’s To Go, located at 2568 Western Ave. down the street from Town Hall, is a different take on dining. It features dinner entrees normally seen in restaurants that are ready to go in 10 minutes.
Menu items include chicken portabella with brandy supreme sauce, fettuccine Alfredo and veal hunter with tomatoes in mushroom wine sauce. The entrees range from $7 to $14, according to its menu.
Chef and owner Paul Hall said he generated the idea for his business three years ago as an alternative to take-out.
It’s in the direction that people are going. People don’t want to sit down anymore, Hall said. `It’s restaurant-quality food at a fraction of the cost.`
Hall’s mother, Lois, pointed out the importance of making sure Hall is focused, especially when he is handling multiple orders.
`It takes concentration. People don’t realize that,` she said.
Hall must often multitask when several customers place orders at once.
Hall, a 40-year-veteran of the food business and former owner of CafE 333 of Delmar, said Saute’s To Go provides a healthy and tasty option for dinner.
He said considering it is one of the worst economies in 80 years and the weather has been especially frigid this winter, the month-old business has been `very well received` by locals.
Hall said he hopes to one day market his idea and create a franchise. The convenience of the product and the fast turnaround are selling points of the new business.
He is training an apprentice, Steve Ritzko, from Schenectady County Community College.
`I want to sell my idea to other chefs,` Hall said. `I hope the hard work pays off.“
