Jim Janson put his 6-foot, 11-inch frame to good use last Saturday.
The senior center scored 10 points in the first quarter on his way to a 21-point afternoon in Scotia-Glenville’s 64-45 Foothills Council victory over Queensbury.
When our team does a good job of swinging the ball around and bringing it up the court, it makes my job easier because all I have to do is catch it and shoot it, said Janson.
Queensbury could do little to stop Janson. The tallest Spartan stood 6-3, giving Janson at least an 8-inch advantage over his defenders.
`There really was no answer,` said Scotia-Glenville coach James Giammattei. `He (Janson) did a nice job of rebounding and getting some second-chance shots.`
Janson had plenty of help.Joe Ferrari drained four three-pointers to finish with 12 points, and Terell Winney added 12 points to help the Tartans (8-2 league, 13-2 overall) remain tied with Broadalbin-Perth for first place in the Foothills Council.
`It’s nice to have a lot of support this year,` said Janson. `Luckily, we’re putting enough points on the (score)board where we don’t need to make (three-pointers), but it’s good to know that we can.`
