The Town of Ballston will be hosting its Community Day on Thursday, Oct. 16 from 3 to 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall.
Community day is a joint effort between the Town Board and town departments to give esidents the opportunity to learn more about government services offered to them.
To that end, representatives from each town department will be on hand to answer question, and Town Historian Rick Reynolds will be providing a look at the town’s history.
Also present will be a number of local and state agencies such as the Saratoga County Office for the Aging, the Burnt Hills Volunteer Fire Department, the county clerk’s office and many others. The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department will be present to provide fingerprinting of children for family records. State troopers will give car seat safety demonstrations.
It will be the town’s first time hosting such an event, and the hope is to make residents more aware of the services that are available to them.
I think it’s a good opportunity for multiple organizations to come together and provide information for the residents, said Councilwoman Kimberly Ireland. `It’s a one-stop shop, in a sense.`
All town residents are encouraged to attend and direct any Community Day questions to the town clerk’s office, 885-8502 extension 10.“
