John A. Robinson Jr., 32, of Old Ravena Road, Selkirk, has been arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child and harassment, following an incident involving two high school-aged girls.
Bethlehem police report that they received a call on Wednesday, May 28, of a suspicious vehicle and person in the area of Route 9W and Glenmont Road in Glenmont.
Police said the operator of a brown and gold 1989 Chevrolet pick-up truck followed the two teens along on Route 9W before approaching them and offering them $20 `to smell their feet.`
The police report contends that Robinson did this in order to `satisfy his own sexual gratification.`
Robinson was arrested the next day, according to police reports, and was arraigned in Bethlehem Town Court before being sent to the Albany County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,000 bail.
Bethlehem police said they have reason to believe that there are other victims that may have been propositioned in a similar manner. Police said they are currently working with school officials to notify parents and students regarding the incident.
Police Lieutenant Thomas Heffernan said more victims have come forward since Bethlehem and Ravena school districts have notified parents and students, but said he believes there may be more.
He added that Robinson may have been doing this `for several years.`
Police are asking anyone that may have been approached by Robinson, or has additional information, to call the Bethlehem Police Department at 439-9973.
