Superintendent Les Loomis is set to retire at the end of June, and the Bethlehem Central School District is asking all of his past and current colleagues to come out and celebrate his 22 years of service.
All former Bethlehem Central staff members, board members, parent-teacher association representatives, and others in the community who worked with the longtime Bethlehem superintendent are invited to attend Loomis’ retirement party Friday, May 30, at the Normanside Country Club from 5 to 8 p.m.
The cost is $30 per person and includes light fare and a contribution to the Dr. Leslie Loomis BC High School Scholarship Fund.
Visit the district’s Web site at www.bcsd.k12.ny.us for an invitation and RSVP information, or call the superintendent’s office at 439-7098 for information.
If you cannot attend, but would like to send Loomis a congratulatory note for a memory book or make a contribution to the scholarship fund, contact the Superintendent’s Office or write to Bethlehem Central School District, Superintendent’s Office, 90 Adams Place, Delmar 12054.

The Eagle has landed, well, almost.
Tours of the new Eagle Elementary are set and the doors will open Saturday, May 10. Guided tours for parents, students and all community members will depart from the front of the building on the half-hour at 2, 3 and 3:30 p.m.
All are encouraged to come check out the progress of the district’s sixth elementary school, which will open in the fall.
The event will also serve as an opportunity for future Eagle students and families to meet and socialize. There will be an inflatable play structure on-site, Eagle T-shirts for sale, and information for Eagle parents interested in joining the school’s growing PTO group.
It is also an opportunity for residents to see the progress being made as part of the ongoing capital construction project voters approved in 2003.
