Malta town clerk
Flo Sickels started as deputy town clerk for the town in 1991, and is now finishing her eighth two-year term as clerk. She has been president of the Saratoga County town clerk’s association for the past 10 years. Sickels has served on committees including the library study, ADA, town board of health, is a member of the Women’s Republican Club, and the Malta Sunrise Rotary. She also volunteers for breast cancer research and food pantries.
Cynthia Young is a 20-year resident of Malta, and has been endorsed by the Democratic Party and the Working Families Party. Young serves as an officer on the Ballston Spa Education Foundation and is a member of the Malta Sunrise Rotary. Young’s past employment with the town of Malta includes deputy town clerk, data collector for the assessor’s office and Webmaster.

The Rev. Peter Klotz, Republican, running on Democratic and Republican lines, is currently the town’s planning board chair, Malta ethics board chairman, member of the Malta planning and zoning update committee, Malta greenspace and economic development study steering committee, Malta emergency planning committee, Saratoga County emergency planning committee.
Republican Tara Thomas, daughter of town clerk Flo Sickels, is a graduate of Alfred University and Hudson Valley Community College, and currently works as a graphic artist in the state Assembly Minority Office of Member Services. Thomas serves as chair of the Malta Trails Committee and was a member of the town’s planning and zoning review committee. She also served as a teen representative to the Malta Youth Commission and as a youth recreation counselor.
Donna Gizzi, a Republican, is a current town council member. She is a 20-year member of the Round Lake Fire Department auxiliary, firefighter, support personnel; a member of the Malta Sunrise Rotary; chair of Malta community and economic development committee; chair of Malta American’s with Disabilities Act Committee; a member of Malta Emergency Preparedness Committee. From 1990 to 2006, Gizzi served as administrative assistant to former town supervisor David Meager.
