A Fultonville man was killed on Wednesday afternoon, July 18, following a two-car accident on New Scotland Avenue that also involved a Delmar resident.
Enders V. Ingersoll, 87, died from injuries sustained in the crash and his wife Bessie Ingersoll is at Albany Medical Center. Her condition was unknown Thursday afternoon.
Bethlehem police report that Ingersoll was attempting to exit the parking lot of Slingerlands Medical Arts Facility at 1240 New Scotland Ave. just before 4 p.m., when his car was struck by a Pontiac driven by Hugh Tuohey Jr.,79, of Delmar.
Police report that Ingersoll when leaving the medical arts building failed to yield the right of way to Tuohey when the accident occurred.
No tickets were issued and the accident remains under investigation.
Tuohey was treated for injuries at St. Peter’s Hospital.
New Scotland Road was closed for a period of time after the accident.
Slingerlands fire and rescue teams were also at the scene assisting.
