After 11 years of service to the Scotia-Glenville School District, Dorothy Nolie has stepped down from her position as school business administrator. The district has hired Andrew Giaquinto to replace Nolie, effective July 16.
Nolie, who retired at the end of June, said she will miss working in a district where she has respected her peers and enjoyed her time.
The Scotia-Glenville District has a staff dedicated to education and community. My time spent here is something I will miss, said Nolie at a board meeting in early June.
Giaquinto is currently the business official at the Hoosic Valley Central School District in Schaticoke, Rensselaer County. He has previously worked as the director of finance for the British American Development Corporation in Latham; as a budget consultant for MVP Health Plan of Schenectady; as consultant for the New York State Credit League; and as vice president of finance, assistant vice president and controller and accounting manager for the Jardine Group Services Corporation in Albany.
`We are very pleased that Mr. Giaquinto will be joining our administrative staff in this very important position,` said Scotia-Glenville Superintendent Susan Swartz.
Giaquinto lives in Clifton Park and is a graduate of Shenendehowa High School. He has an associate’s degree in accounting from SUNY Cobleskill and a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration from Siena College.
`I would like to build on the model at Hoosic Valley, which reflects strong leadership, integrity, organization and communication skills, `said Giaquinto.
Giaquinto will bring his experience in working with state aid projects like EXCEL, as well as different grant programs that help give help give districts like Scotia-Glenville an opportunity for expansions and building improvements.
`His private sector experience and recent background in school finance is a wonderful mix of knowledge that will be a strong asset to Scotia-Glenville,` said Swartz
