Camp Adventure, a Capital District YMCA summer camp in Guilderland, has just received new archery equipment, thanks to an Albany County grant that contributed $2,000 of the $2,900 that the new targets, bows and arrows ultimately cost the camp.
Dorry Foster, YMCA’s Capital District executive director and the head of the Guilderland Y, applied for the grant. County Legislator Mark Grimm (29th District – Guilderland), the grant’s sponsor, took the first shot during the ceremony and hit a bull’s-eye!
The new archery equipment will be used to expand the program for youth campers, continue an advanced program into the fall and spring seasons, and implement adult courses in archery. The equipment will also be available for corporate and private parties and picnics at the camp.
