COLONIE — The South Colonie cheerleading squad traveled across town to the inaugural Shaker Sweetheart Classic competition and took home first place out of 14 Section II teams that competed.
Shaker hosted, so it did not compete. The varsity and JV teams did put on an exhibition between their duties of running the tournament.
The rest of the results were not immediately available.
Teams from Cohoes, Schuylerville, Shenendehowa, Ballston Spa, Guilderland, Schenectady, Burnt Hills, Mohonasen, Albany, Broadalbin, Columbia, Gloversville and Averill Park competed.
