COLONIE — Police are looking for help identifying a man who robbed the Pioneer Savings Bank at 1761 Central Ave. on Friday, Dec. 27.
The bank’s surveillance cameras captured unusually clear images of the unmasked man who entered the bank at around 4:36 p.m.
He demanded money, but no weapon was displayed or observed. He did, though, keep his hand in his pocket.
He was given a yet to be determined amount of money and fled on foot in an unknown direction. A K-9 unit from the Albany County Sheriff did attempt to track the suspect but was not successful.
It was later determined the suspect arrived and left in a grey or silver Mercedes Benz SUV and headed west on Central Avenue.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 30s or 40s standing about 6-foot tall and weighing about 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing black framed glasses, a black jacket, blue jeans, black sneakers with white soles and a black baseball cap.
Anyone who recognizes the suspect/vehicle photos, or has information about this robbery,
is urged to contact the Colonie Police Department at 518-783-2754.
