COLONIE – The Friends of the Pruyn House celebrated its 36th year with the annual Old Fashioned Sunday.
The free event at the 5.5-acre site held on Sunday, Sept. 8, included arts and crafts, food and music by town bands as well as “old tyme” craft demonstrations like sheep shearing and blacksmithing.
Extensive work is being done on the historic house, built between 1825 and 1830, so tours were not offered but the Buhrmaster Barn was open as was the one-room school house, the tool museum and the carriage house.
The garden was open for checking out and there were also flowers by the Fort Orange Garden Club, dried floral arrangements by the Blue Creek Garden Club and activities for children.
