UPDATED-Nov 11, 2020: The original felonies were reduced to misdemeanors and moved from County Court to the Town of Colonie Court. All of the charges were adjourned with contemplation of dismissal (ACOD) on Oct 21, 2020 and have a dismissal date of June 11, 2020. The Albany County District Attorney’s office also cancelled its restitution hearing on Nov 9 and does not plan to go forward.
COLONIE – A former bartender at Tala Bistro on New Loudon Road stands charged with two felonies.
According to police, Maria Sprague, a 33-year-old from Halfmoon, was arrested on May 17.
She allegedly “modified” business records 43 times between Aug. 11 and Dec. 9, 2017, to steal $1,221 from the business.
She is charged with the felonies of grand larceny and falsifying business records.
Lt. Robert Winn said the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
