On Friday April 28, at approximately 8 p.m., officers from the Guilderland Police Department responded to the Days Inn Motel at 1230 Western Ave in the Town of Guilderland for a report of illegal drug sales following an investigation. After officers knocked on the door of room 231 and identified themselves, an uninvolved female opened the door as a male was reportedly observed throwing items out of the window, later allegedly learned to be narcotics. A quantity of narcotics could also reportedly be observed on the bed. A male, who identified himself as Leonard Washington, was placed in custody. A female, Liegiea Parker, was also placed in custody.
A search of the room was conducted by officers and investigators from the Guilderland Police Department and University of Albany Police Department K-9 handler and K-9 Rogan. Reportedly recovered from the search were 248 bags of Heroin, 113 grams of Marijuana, 23 Ecstasy pills and over $5100.00 in US currency. During the investigation, the true identity of “Leonard Washington” was allegedly revealed to be Kyle P. Brown, a suspect wanted in connection with a murder from the City of New York Police Department.
Both Brown and Parker were arraigned by Judge John Bailey in the Town of Guilderland Court on April 29 and remanded to Albany County Jail. They are due back in Guilderland Town Court on May 4.
