COLONIE – Colonie police Annual Awards Ceremony was held at the Verdoy Firehouse on Troy Schenectady Road on Tuesday, May 6.
Assistant District Attorney Bill Andrews received the Chief’s Partnership In Policing Award given annually by the Chief of Police to recognize an individual or organization who has collaborated with the Colonie Police Department to uphold the Department’s values and has assisted the Chief of Police in accomplishing the department’s mission, to protect and serve the residents, visitors, and businesses of the Town of Colonie.
Lieutenant Thomas Breslin received the Esposito / Russo Memorial Award, which is presented to an officer who exhibits outstanding efforts in the field of impaired driving enforcement.
The Distinguished Service Award is presented yearly to a member of the department, who in the course of his or her duties and while interacting with peers, supervisors and the public, displays exceptional dedication to their profession and to the department.

Command Recognition Award Recipients: Sergeant Michael Clough / K9 Eddie, Officer Matthew Casey, Sergeant Conor Anson, Sergeant Ardit Potka, Investigator Christopher Hooks, Investigator Christopher R. Smith, Sergeant William Guthrie, Investigator Zahoor Anwer, Officer Mark Egan, Officer Jason Tusch, Officer Frank Peris, Officer Razario Minarchi, Officer Christopher Carey, Jr., Investigator Phillip Winglosky, Investigator Nicholas Layne, Investigator Brian Curran, Investigator David Mink, Officer Christopher Pelletier, Officer Daniel Kutny, and Dispatcher Evan Ashley.
A Civilian Awards were given to Nikki Tryon, Jeff Hill, and Matt Doheny by the Chief of Police to a civilian who has rendered assistance to the Colonie Police Department contributing to a better police-community relationship.
Officer Brian Seniw received the Special Service Award. The Special Service Award is awarded to a member of the force who submits a device or method adopted by the department which significantly increases efficiency in administration or tactical procedures.
The Life Saving Award was presented to Investigator Brian Curran, Investigator Evan Alaxanian, Officer Amanda Paris, Officer Razario Minarchi, and Officer Dylan Gansle, who in the performance of his or her duty, renders medical first aid of a distinguished or unusually creditable nature to a person whose life is in immediate jeopardy, and does so in a manner that most certainly sustains the person and enables such person to be delivered alive to a medical facility.
The Meritorious Service Award was presented to Officer Nicholas Caladim Officer Matthew Casey who distinguished themselves by a highly unusual accomplishment under adverse conditions with some degree of hazard to life and limb to the officer or where a possibility of death or injury to a third party was present.
