COLONIE – Soldier On will lease the vacant Ann Lee Nursing Home for the next 50 years, according to an agreement approved by the Albany County Legislature.
“I applaud County Executive (Dan) McCoy for proposing this outstanding project that will help our most vulnerable veterans. These veterans have put their lives on the line for our country and often return home to little or no support,” said Minority Leader Frank Mauriello (R-Colonie), in a press release. “I thank Solider On for the great work they do in supporting veterans who need help the most.”
Soldier On will rehabilitate the vacant nursing home and convert it into a housing and treatment facility for homeless veterans. It is similar to program completed in Pittsfield, Mass.
