BETHLEHEM — Bethlehem police have identified a body, that was discovered on Saturday, May 4 in the Hudson River around Henry Hudson Park, as a 66-year-old man who committed suicide.
While his name was not revealed, he had been reported missing since March. According to reports, an autopsy was scheduled for Sunday, May 5 at Ellis Hospital and it was determined that no foul play was involved in this case.
The body had been found by two people fishing in the park at 6:11 a.m. last Saturday. Bethlehem police and the Selkirk Fire Department responded to the scene. A Selkirk Fire Department boat helped remove the body from the river. Police had reviewed missing persons cases too as part of this investigation.
