BETHLEHEM — Nine different Eagles scored during a 61-29 rout of Catholic Central in the opening round of the Class AA sectionals on Friday, Feb. 21.
Bethlehem is playing as the No. 7 seed, and after beating the No. 10 seed Catholic Central will play the No. 2 seed from Shenendehowa on Thursday, Feb. 27 at Shen. No. 3 Niskayuna will take on No. 6 Albany in the other half of the bottom bracket.
No. 8 Guilderland got by No. 9 Columbia in the top half of Class AA bracket and will take on No. 1 seed Saratoga on Thursday. In the other half, No. 4 Colonie will take on No. 5 Shaker on Thursday. Those games are at Saratoga.
Against Catholic Central, Maren Louridas had 12 points for Bethlehem while Ellie Cerf had 11, Liz Mullen and Caroline Wise had nine points each and Julia Harvey had seven.
Sarah Mattfeld had 13 points to lead Catholic Central.
