ALBANY COUNTY — Bethlehem jumped out to a 5-0 lead and cruised to a 16-8 victory over Averill Park in a Suburban Council girls lacrosse game Wednesday, April 27, in Delmar.
Sophie Powers led the Lady Eagles (2-4 league, 3-5 overall) with four goals, while Kathryn Sancilio and Sophia Calabrese each contributed hat tricks. Natalie Cook recorded two goals and two assists, and Tessa Hughes added a pair of goals.
Meagan Lettko paced Averill Park with a four-goal, one-assist effort, and Abbi Zalucky tallied three times.
Elsewhere in the Suburban Council, Shaker struck for seven second-half goals in a 13-10 victory over Saratoga Springs.
Maeve Lennon and Cait Wood each had five goals for the Blue Bison (6-2). Lindsey Frank guided the Blue Streaks with a hat trick.

Boys lacrosse
Christian Brothers Academy defeated Schenectady 14-10 in a Suburban Council boys lacrosse game April 27.
Freddie Smith tallied three times to lead a balanced CBA attack. Justin Wagner, Nick Blaauboer, Ben Curro and Hunter Pemrick all contributed a pair of goals.
Michael Avramidis struck for five goals and two assists for Schenectady.
In other league action, Guilderland downed Troy 16-4 behind Kevin Dyer’s six-goal afternoon, while Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake remained undefeated with an 11-7 win against Colonie.
Tucker Peceri chipped in with four goals, and goaltender Sam DiPace stopped seven shots in Guilderland’s win. Carey Episcopo made 14 saves for Troy.
Will Clark recorded five goals and three assists to pace BH-BL past Colonie. Liam Dollard tallied five times for the Garnet Raiders.
Baseball
Columbia’s three-run third inning proved to be the difference in a 4-1 Suburban Council baseball victory over CBA in Colonie.
Justin Luther’s two-run single broke the game open for Columbia (7-3, 7-4). Dom Savona had a pair of singles for CBA (8-2, 9-2).
Shaker scored three runs in the top of the eighth inning to pull out a 6-3 victory over Troy. Aidan Booker drove in a pair of runs for the Blue Bison.
Schenectady defeated Colonie 5-3 in Central Park. A.J. Mazzone drove in one of Colonie’s three runs with a single.
Ballston Spa downed Guilderland 7-3. Cameron Collett drove in a run and scored another for the Dutchmen in the loss.
Ichabod Crane scored five times in the top of the seventh inning to defeat Voorheesville 10-5.
