COLONIE— A Guilderland woman allegedly entered a relative’s house during a domestic dispute Saturday, March 8, in Colonie.
According to reports, Sarah Murphy, 45, left the scene before police arrived and was later taken into custody at her home by Guilderland police. She was charged with burglary (criminal intent in a dwelling) and third-degree criminal mischief, both felonies, and attempted assault, a misdemeanor.
Murphy was arraigned by Colonie Town Judge Andrew Sommers.
Domestic and weapon
LATHAM— Colonie police responded to a home on Loudon Road for a physical domestic dispute involving a knife Saturday, March 8.
At 3:40 p.m., police arrested Bimlesh Karn, 41, and charged him with criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, and menacing, assault, criminal obstruction of breathing and endangering the welfare of a child, all misdemeanors.
He was arraigned in Colonie Town Court by Judge Andrew Sommers.
Burglary and larceny
LATHAM— A Watervliet man, previously banned from all Hannaford stores, was arrested Friday, March 7, for allegedly stealing from the Latham Farms location.
Frank McBain, 59, was taken into custody at 2:31 p.m. and charged with burglary, a felony, and petit larceny. He was arraigned by Colonie Town Judge Andrew Sommers.
Criminal contempt
LATHAM— Colonie police arrested a resident at the Monte Mario Motel on Sunday, March 9, after a domestic dispute.
Billy Fay, 51, was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, a felony, acting in a manner injurious to a child, a misdemeanor, and harassment, a violation. He was arraigned in Colonie Town Court by Judge Andrew Sommers.
Driving While Ability Impaired (DWAI)
COLONIE— At 10:14 a.m. on Monday, March 10, Colonie police responded to a report of a vehicle driving on the curb and hitting approximately three light poles on Central Avenue.
Police found a 59-year-old Colonie man behind the wheel. He showed signs of impairment and was given field sobriety tests. A drug recognition expert from Albany police evaluated him.
He was charged with DWAI-drugs, a misdemeanor, and released with an appearance ticket for Colonie Town Court on Monday, March 24.
Incidents at Stewart’s
COLONIE— An Albany man, previously banned from the Stewart’s on Fuller Road, returned to the store Wednesday, March 12, and was wanted for another theft from the location.
An employee recognized Trewuan Morris, 22, and called police. Officers located him near Central Avenue after he fled. He was charged with resisting arrest, a misdemeanor, and trespass, a violation.
Morris was also connected to a Feb. 19 incident where he allegedly stole beer and other items from the store. He was charged with burglary, a felony, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor.
He also had a warrant for failing to appear in court and was charged with bail jumping, a misdemeanor.
Morris was arraigned.
Grand larceny
COLONIE— A 24-year-old Albany man was taken into custody Wednesday, March 12, for allegedly stealing property from a business on Braintree Street.
Edward Prall was charged with third-degree grand larceny, a felony, for allegedly stealing property valued at more than $3,000.
He was processed and arraigned by Colonie Town Judge Ryan Caponera.
Weapon charges
COLONIE— A Colonie man turned himself in Thursday, March 13, to face charges stemming from an incident two days earlier on Osborne Road.
According to reports, Kevin Mulderry, 62, of Colonie, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, and criminal possession of a weapon (prior conviction), criminal possession of a weapon (intent to use) and second-degree menacing, all misdemeanors.
He was arraigned by Colonie Town Judge Ryan Caponera.
Burglary, larceny and warrant
COLONIE— A 50-year-old Watervliet woman was turned over to Colonie police Thursday, March 13, for an outstanding arrest warrant.
According to reports, Shannon Terry was involved in a Jan. 29 incident at the Hannaford at Latham Farms where she allegedly stole items from the store.
She was charged with burglary, a felony, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor, and processed on the warrant. Terry was arraigned by Colonie Town Judge Ryan Caponera.
Criminal contempt
COLONIE— Colonie police responded to the Travelodge on Wolf Road on Friday, March 14, at 12:58 a.m. and arrested a Schenectady man on domestic charges.
According to reports, Anthony Redding, 36, was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, a felony, and sent to the Albany County jail as a pre-arraignment detainee.
Drug possession
COLONIE— Colonie police stopped a vehicle leaving the Red Roof Inn parking lot onto Wolf Road on Friday, March 14, and found drugs in the car.
According to reports, Jeremiah Hall, 20, of Charlotte, N.C., was driving a vehicle with an expired Virginia registration and illegal window tint at 12:55 a.m. Hall was found to have multiple plastic bags containing a white powder, later identified as cocaine.
Hall was charged with criminal possession of a narcotic drug (intent to sell) and criminal possession of a narcotic drug, both felonies, and ticketed for failure to stop before entering a roadway, no registration and illegal window tint.
He was held and arraigned the following morning by Colonie Town Judge Ryan Caponera.
Driving While Intoxicated (DWI)
COLONIE— On Saturday, March 15, Colonie police stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Central Avenue and New Karner Road for failing to stay in a single lane.
According to reports, the 32-year-old Albany driver showed signs of intoxication. He failed field sobriety tests and tested positive for breath alcohol on a pre-screening device.
The man was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, and issued traffic tickets. He was released with an appearance ticket for March 31.
Criminal contempt
SCHENECTADY— A 34-year-old Schenectady woman faces felony charges after a physical domestic incident Monday, March 17, on Amelia Drive.
According to reports, Toni Monaco allegedly punched a victim in the face multiple times, violating an order of protection issued by Colonie Judge David Green. Monaco was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, a felony, and harassment, a violation. She was arraigned by Green.
DWI after crash
COLONIE— Colonie police responded to a personal injury vehicle accident Monday, March 17, near the
intersection of Wilber and Central avenues and found one driver intoxicated.
According to reports, at 8:23 p.m., one of the drivers, a 33-year-old Schenectady man, showed signs of intoxication. He had bloodshot and watery eyes, slurred speech and an odor of alcohol.
The man failed field sobriety tests and tested positive for breath alcohol on a pre-screening device. He was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, and ticketed for failing to stay in a single lane.
The man was released with an appearance ticket for Colonie Town Court on March 31.
Criminal contempt
COLONIE— On Tuesday, March 18, at approximately 8:01 a.m., Colonie police responded to a domestic incident on Newton Street.
According to reports, Jason Jones, 55, of Colonie, was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, a felony, and harassment, a violation. He was arraigned by Colonie Town Judge David Green.
Strangulation, grand larceny and warrant
ALBANY— Colonie police, assisted by Albany police, took an Albany man into custody Tuesday, March 18, for a violent incident in Colonie four days earlier.
According to reports, Jamie Stafford, 42, allegedly assaulted a victim and used the victim’s credit card. He was charged with strangulation and grand larceny, both felonies, and criminal mischief, unlawful imprisonment, assault and criminal obstruction of breathing, all misdemeanors.
Stafford also had an outstanding warrant from the town for failing to appear in court in October 2022. He was processed on that warrant.
Stafford was arraigned by Colonie Town Judge David Green.
Grand larceny
COLONIE— A Peru man turned himself in to Colonie police Tuesday, March 18, for an incident at the Sunoco station on Albany Shaker Road.
Tai Nelson, 40, allegedly stole a vehicle and was charged with second-degree grand larceny, a felony, in April 2022. He was arraigned by Colonie Town Judge David Green.
Grand larceny and petit larceny
COLONIE— Colonie police responded to Chase Bank on Wolf Road on Tuesday, March 18, at approximately 5:52 p.m. for a theft.
According to reports, Tyenna Aponte, 20, who is homeless, was charged with grand larceny, a felony, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor. She was arraigned by Colonie Town Judge David Green.
Failure to register
LATHAM— A Schenectady man turned himself in to Colonie police Wednesday, March 19, for failing to update his address with police.
Warren Cook, 49, of Schenectady, a registered level two sex offender, was charged with failure to report a change of address, a felony. He was arraigned by Colonie Town Judge David Green.
Warrant arrests this week
Kyerra Amos, 27, of Cohoes, failed to appear in court in 2016. She was turned over to Troy police for a warrant there on Monday, March 17.
Danioris Santiago, 38, of Schenectady, was taken into custody by Schenectady police on Monday, March 17 for not showing up to court in December.
Jenna Houghtailing, 38, of Schenectady, was brought to Colonie by Albany County Sheriff’s Deputies on Monday, March 17 for not showing up to court in October.
James Fernandez, 44, who is homeless, was taken into custody for larceny on Tuesday, March 18 and found to have two warrants in Colonie for not showing up for court in January.
Miranda Quail, 27, of Schenectady, on Wednesday, March 19 for a felony warrant in Colonie Town Court.
Hope Freeman, 21, of Gloversville, on Wednesday, March 19 for failing to appear in March 2024.
Julissa Pitt, 31, of Albany, was arrested as a fugitive of justice from Penn. on Wednesday, March 19.
Jessica Ward, 42, of Halfmoon, on Wednesday, March 19 for failing to appear in court.
