Guilderland police arrested a woman and man for allegedly stealing multiple sunglasses from a department store in Crossgates Mall on Monday, June 23.
Rita Y. Wood, 25, of 55 Majestic Drive in Stuyvesant, allegedly selected four sunglasses in Macy’s around 8:45 p.m. and placed them into a Macy’s shopping bag Dwight D. Dottin held open. Then Dottin, 24, of 6700 Route 9 in Hudson, allegedly took two pairs out and placed them into Wood’s purse.
They walked around the upper level of the store for about 30 minutes before allegedly leaving through the bedding department exterior doors without paying for the sunglasses, which police said were worth $1,085. Macy’s Loss Prevention apprehended the pair after they exited.
Both were arrested charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree, a felony, and released on $250 cash bail.
