Police arrested two men who were allegedly found to have with a loaded pistol during a traffic stop on Albany Street in Colonie, on Sunday, March 17.
Albany County Sheriff’s deputies pulled over a car at about 3:01 a.m. and allegedly observed an open container of alcohol in the car. Further investigation turned up a loaded Glock 9mm pistol, police said. The pistol was loaded with 13 rounds and was reported stolen in Watervliet, police said.
Both of the car’s occupants were arrested and charged. Lorenzo Howard Knoregay Jr., of 126 Water St., Albany, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon on the second and third degrees, criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, drinking alcohol on a highway, failure to keep right, speeding and illegal turn signal.
Daquan Charles, of 288 River Road, Glenmont, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second and fourth degrees, criminal possession of a firearm and drinking alcohol on a highway.
Both men were arraigned in Colonie Justice Court and remanded to the Albany County jail without bail.
