COLONIE — The golf course opened, again, on Saturday April 25.
Pro Noel Gebauer said all the tee times were filled on Saturday and everyone was spread out to accommodate social distancing protocols.
The clubhouse and bathrooms are closed as is the pro shop. The dining room is open for takeout and the driving range is open.
Greens fees and money to pay for range balls was collected through a window.
There are no removable pins, and the cups are raised a bit above the turf to avoid multiple people reaching into the hole.
The state initially was silent on golf courses and then allowed them to open briefly before closing them back down because of the coronavirus. Last week it allowed privately owned courses to open, and left it up to the individual municipalities to open government owned courses.
Gabauer said he expects the Town of Colonie course will remain open for the duration of the summer “provided everyone behaves” and abides by social distancing rules.
