Dear Friends and Neighbors:
We face challenging times in our country and have reached a crossroads. Fundamental Conservative values including personal liberties and sound fiscal policies are being tested daily. In Albany County, where out-of-touch progressive legislators have enacted one of the most liberal agendas, this is especially true.
It is for this reason that I am running to be your next county legislator in the 36th District, which encompasses Selkirk, So. Bethlehem and Glenmont. We need strong representation in government to stand up for the hard-working families of our district and stop the so-called “progressive” policies that dig deeper into our wallets and infringe on our liberties.
Look around the district and you may see signs that belong to my challenger, a rogue Bethlehem Republican Committee member. IF he should visit your home be prepared to ask some very important questions.
My opponent comes from a Democrat family and, in fact, had been a registered Democrat up until 2015, at which time he switched to Republican as he was unable to secure the Democrat endorsement to run for Town Justice, a position that he lost by a large margin;
My opponent was courted by others seeking personal gain, to secure the Conservative endorsement and to run in a primary against me. This was an attempt to manipulate the election and take away this seat from Republican control, handing it over to an already over-represented Democratic majority in the Legislature;
My opponent did, in fact, secure this Conservative endorsement only to ignore his obligation to file a ‘Certificate of Acceptance’ with the County Board of Elections and have his name stricken from the ballot.
Those who know me will say I have a strong commitment to the community, and a history of advocating for the residents of the south end of our town. I moved my family to Wemple Road in Glenmont in 1992 and bought our current residence on Clapper Road in Selkirk in July 2017. For over 25 years my family was raised in the south end of town. My opponent is a Slingerlands native who moved into his new home in Glenmont just this past fall. The southern end of Bethlehem has been ignored for many years – it is time you had a REAL voice in the Albany County Legislature.
We have both Republican and Independence Party primaries coming up on June 25th. I am personally, asking you for your support, my heart and soul are rooted in this district, and I pledge to work as hard as I can for you in the County Legislature to be the guy who stands up and defends the principles and morals of those in the district – unlike what we have seen in the past.
