Suburban Council announces softball all-stars

The Suburban Council announced its softball most valuable player, coach of the year and all-star teams Monday.

Bethlehem’s Mary Beth Dombrowski received the league’s MVP award after helping the Lady Eagles win the Section II Class AA title. Colonie’s Kevin Jette was chosen the coach of the year after guiding the Lady Raiders to a share of the Suburban Council South Division title.

The all-star teams are as follows:

First team

Pitchers: Erica Vallecorsa (Shaker) and Casey Rowland (Colonie)

Catchers: Taylor TenEyck (Guilderland) and Sammy Smaldone (Bethlehem)

Infielders: Emily O’Donnell (Niskayuna), Giuliana Figliomeni (Shenendehowa), Meghan Burns (Bethlehem), Juliana Thibodeau (Shaker) and Emily Johnson (Shaker)

Outfielders: Serena Moroukian (Niskayuna), Morgan TenEyck (Guilderland), Cat Fitorre (Shaker) and Jessica Henkel (Colonie)

Utility: Jamie Guerin (Shaker) and Kiersten Gray (Niskayuna)

Second team

Pitchers: Cameron Sprague (Shenendehowa) and Meagan Sullivan (Bethlehem)

Catchers: Meagan Fleming (Saratoga) and Caitlin Lawson (Shenendehowa)

Infielders: Brittany Hart (Columbia), Kelly Lane (Colonie), Mallory Harrigan (Guilderland), Morgan Cahill (Saratoga) and Jenna Cubello (Guilderland)

Outfielders: Mikayla Shade (Bethlehem), McKenzie Pezze (Bethlehem), Michaela Bertrand (Saratoga) and Natasha Schultz (Columbia)

Utility: Katharine Rice (Bethlehem) and Cori Hilt (Guilderland)

Honorable mention

Averill Park: McKenzie Bump, Kelly Beliveau, Kelly Donnelly and Caraline Wood
