Warren Redlich told Spotlight Newspapers on Monday, Jan. 4, that he is considering running for governor in the Nov. 2010 election.
Redlich said he has been considering running for attorney general as a third party candidate on the Libertarian line when friends have asked him to consider a run for governor.
While Redlich said he is considering a run for governor, he did not comment on when he will make a final decision. I have not made a decision yet, said Redlich, `If we do this I would run for the Republican and Libertarian lines.`
Redlich expressed his frustration with both major party lines. `There are people in New York state that are unhappy with mainstream Republicans and mainstream Democrats.` Redlich described the only Republican candidate for governor, former Congressman Rick Lazio, as a `bailed-out banker.`
When asked what his consideration to run is weighing on Redlich said `I’m trying to get a feel if people are motivated.` Redlich specifically mentioned his desire to garner support from the Libertarian Party, Campaign for Liberty, and the Tea-Party movement.
