Students at Draper Middle School brought canned goods for money off on admission to the Teen Town event on Friday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m.
Teen Town, an event held monthly by the Parent Teacher Student Origination of the Mohonasen School District helps to bring students in the middle school out for fun and recreation. Usually, the price is $3 for admission to the event, but by presenting a canned good, students were able to get into Friday’s event for only $2.Students must also be in good standing academically with the school to participate in the Teen Town nights.
`I think it’s a really popular event in the school,` said Draper Middle School ELS teacher and co-advisor of the PTSO Erin Degnan. `I know that the kids I teach really get excited about it.`
According to Degnan, on average 300-400 students come to the events that are put on a monthly basis.
