Visualizing Nature

May 11 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The Adirondack Show, Visualizing Nature, is open for your pleasure and this Saturday, from 2-4pm we will be hosting the Artists’ reception. For this event we will have special guests Josh Clevenstine and friends performing songs from Josh’s new CD “By My Fire Again” which is a fabulous musical body of Adirondack Folk music. This show asks the question; When you close your eyes and think of the Adirondacks, what do you see? Twenty artists are showing us what they see in this show of 65 pieces of in many forms. This show will run through My 25 and includes the work of 4 artists that are new to the gallery. So come on out and celebrate the Adirondacks and these artists who are sharing their creativity and passion for art with us.

Up next in the Artists’ Space gallery is our annual Art of The Bottle show in which every piece of art must depict or use bottles in some form to be accepted in the show. This show will open on May 31 with an artists’ reception from 2-4pm. The Art of the Bottle show will run thru June 29. The opening of this show coincides with the annual Saratoga Antique Bottle Show and Sale which is sponsored by The National Bottle Museum on Sunday, June 2 from 8am to 2pm at The Saratoga County Fairgrounds and Expo Center on Prospect St in Ballston Spa.

We are continuing to celebrate our 15th year of sharing art and creativity in The Jan Rutland Memorial Artists’ Space. Watch for a special party to close the celebration in August, during our annual Summer Open Call Show which will run from July 13 thru September 14. Throughout this show, on Saturday afternoons, artists in this show will be speaking about their process of creating art and/or demonstrating that process. We started this during last summer’s show and it was especially enjoyed by the other artists in the show. More info about this show and future events will be shared in upcoming emails and on the museums social media.

The National Bottle Museum is looking for artist teachers to hold workshops in the gallery as well as other creatives that might want to share poetry, music, lectures, etc. in the gallery. Please contact me or the museum directly if you would be interested in participating.

Please consider becoming a member of The National Bottle Museum and/or volunteering and follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and our web site at nationalbottlemuseum.org.
