COLONIE — Colonie Senior Service Centers, Inc. (CSSC) hosted the 23rd Annual Salvatore R. and Anna E. Beltrone Golf Classic on Monday, July 25, at the Schuyler Meadows Club in Loudonville.
The Golf Classic raised nearly $60,000 to go toward CSSC’s programs and services including transportation, senior dining, Umbrella of Colonie, Bright Horizons, health and wellness, and more. This is the most the organization has raised at this event since the first Golf Classic in 1993.
CSSC serves hundreds of seniors in Colonie and throughout Albany County. Proceeds from this event go directly to fund the programs and services that are utilized and cherished everyday by seniors in the community. Thanks to the support and contributions made by sponsors and individuals, CSSC is able to continue serving those seniors, allowing them to live active, healthy, and engaging lives in the community they love.
“Apart from it being a good time, the proceeds go to a great cause. Our sponsors know that. The golfers know that. That is why it is growing and they come back year after year,” said Ed Neary, executive director of CSSC. “I love seeing everyone having a good time while supporting an important cause.”
The Golf Classic, chaired by Steve Muth of M&T Bank, included a BBQ lunch buffet, 18-holes of golf including golf carts at one of the best courses in the Capital District, as well as a cocktail reception and dinner buffet. There were on-course contests for golfers, plus raffle prizes and silent and live auctions.
The presenting sponsor was The Salvatore & Anna Beltrone Family Foundation. Other major sponsors included BBL Construction Services, Berkshire Bank, M&T Bank, Metroland Business Machines, Inc., CDTA, Roemer Wallens Gold & Mineaux, LLP, Alexander W. Cruden & Co., CPAs, Haylor Freyer & Coon, CDPHP, Rowlands & LeBrou, PLLC and WCGS Architects.
