The Albany International Airport has announced that limited departures will begin at 4:35 p.m.
The airport is being kept open as a United States point of entry for commercial and general aviation, as well as serving as a place for diversion and emergency landings for planes in the Albany air space. Still, there are some flights that will begin leaving from the airport.
A US Airways flight leaving from the airport to Washington State Airport will be the first one to depart.
Other flights from Air Canada to Toronto, Canada, Continental Airlines to Newark, N.J., US Airways to Philadelphia, Pa, US Airways to Charlotte, N.C., and United Airlines to Dulles, Va.
Albany Airport spokesperson Doug Myers said all other departures have been cancelled.
The Airport Snow Team is continuing to work to keep the runways and taxiways open for incoming and outgoing flights.
If you are looking to reschedule flights, Myers said passengers should contact their airline.`
